Be a poet and don’t starve

I feel like committing to a life of poetry is like saying “I am never going to have money”.

People say “follow your dreams” but money has a nasty habit of getting in the way particularly when you don’t have any.

The problem is there doesn’t seem to be any career path for writing and when there is one like the MFA route it’s a sell out and a sham and makes people “writers by numbers”

I’ve just watched some perturbing videos of Buddhists in America. Sometimes religion makes people think too deeply into things. Too much thinking already.

I want to be comfortably numb with a little more money for me and my parter and no deep ass Buddhist stuff.
