Confirmation bias

This article in The Guardian is good. Martin criticises people drawing lofty conclusions from what is going on now.

”In some cases, the pandemic is merely vindicating whatever the thinker believed in the first place, before the outbreak began. All the pandemic has done is make them believe it more strongly than ever.”

I really agree with this. I’ve seen loads of articles in the NYT saying Covid means this or Covid means that or it means the end of this or that or the beginning of this or that. The answer is no one really knows nor are they going to know for decades.
