one way to live

I think it’s a thing about culture, our culture, that people assume the way we/they live is the only right/valid way.

Like western settled hierarchical culture, techno-scientific civilization, living in a house is the only valid way to live and other ways are discounted.

Even other regimes. Like the former East Germany. Other life-worlds.

Other ways have existed.

Thinking about some of the great anthropological studies of gypsy folk or Turkish villages it makes me angry that anthropology hoards that knowledge. Doesn’t share it with the rest of the world.
