I think I am a Luddite.
I saw Tim Berners Lee talking about the birth of the internet early. I feel like it would be better if it had never been invented. “Inventions exceed their usefulness”. I feel like most inventions inevitably lead to some kind of ‘revenge’ effect where the downsides of the technology cause more problems than the supposed benefits. This usually leads to bodges where yet more technologies are applied which cause yet more negative effects. Witness industrial civilization as a whole.
