Was reading about a Soviet trade fair in North Korea. There was a stand displaying Russian literature translated into Korean. Even in that dark dictatorship they had Tolstoy, Pushkin, Dostoevsky, Chekhov.
I was looking at the books piled round my flat and thinking how they give me an umbilical cord to the great minds of history.
This is so gorgeous a post. The umbilical cord thing especially touched me. This is what we call more in less. Btw, I have no idea what the post means, shall do some research.😋 Great post, anyhow. ☺️
